I was in a meeting Wednesday night and we were told that there were 4 potential donors found during the marrow drive.

That is good news! Anyone know if it was someone local that matched?

Why would they even release it? It's not like he won a raffle!

the boy won the raffle!

I was just curious if it was a family member or a stranger that matched him. I would think if it were a stranger and local, that would help boost the national registry. Those that have never registered might be more convinced to register if they had more hope that they could help a stranger. I think many only register when they find one of their own family members in a situation to need a donor.

I donated in 1989 when I registered to help a stranger. I wish more would do the same
