Anyone have a mortgage broker they have dealt with locally that they liked? I bought my place back in '03 and used NFCU. It is time to refi since I am at 5.5% and 30 year fixed is dow to 3.25%. I checked with NFCU but I am not sure it is the best deal so I want to compare. I get crap in the mail all the time but my Spidey Senses say "Shyster".

We have done a couple refi deals with Quicken Loans and been very satisfied. Good rates, excellent customer service, easy in-home closing, very low fees.

You can try CPFCU. Cedar Point Federal Credit Union

They aren't posting mortgage rates, but you can call.

Haven't had a new mortgage since '94, and paid it off a few years ago, so I'm not current on mortgages.

They are all shyster (as you call it). NFCU will prolly be your best bet for the long run. I also purchased at high time 2007 and stuck with a high mortgage. The main people to qualify for easy refinace is the fannie may folks. They don't tell you that up front. The rest of us will lose equity in order to refinance. It is not worth it and it is like giving the bank FREE money... in the thousands! Think twice Pete! With NFCU the fees are low and your mortgage isn't passed around like a hot potatoe every month or so...
