| They are just going to say they offer a salad. ![]() And Bernie, I know I had a good experience at Texas Roadhouse, where the waiter went out of his way to ensure I got a vegetarian meal. I can't speak for Longhorn.

| A native-American friend of mine told me that "vegetarian" is derived from the concatenation of three indian words that translate roughly as "very bad hunter". I don't know if that's true or not.

| I can't think of a time where I couldn't find anything vegetarian to eat on a menu. Just sayin... I like it when there are options and I frequent restaurants with more options more than others with less, but it's not really a big deal to me.

Many restaurants will only offer a side salad, which is kind of boring (iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, croutons) and really not worth it to me to "go out to eat". But I've discovered that if you want the "Yummy Meat Salad" that has pecans and mixed lettuce greens and a lot more veggies, the restaurant will let you order it without the meat, but they will still charge you for the meat. Again, a restaurant like that isn't worth going to imho. So ordering a steak with green beans, but hold the steak, will most likely mean you are charged for the steak.

| Or you could just order a plate full of sides. That's what I normally do. I have some mashed potatoes and green beans or whatever else they're serving.
