Question Should a registered sex offender...

Be allowed to work at Family Dollar? A store that caters to families? A store that probably sees a hundred kids per day? I'm just curious to hear what the masses think.

And a little background to it all...this registered sex offender was arrested because he had a fondness for little boys. And yes, this is in St. Mary's.

Not all registered sex offenders have molested little children. So no, I don't feel they should be excluded from working at a Family Dollar Store.

Perhaps I should have specified that I was referring to this case.

It's not the one you know about that’s the problem.

If we expect sex offenders who have served their time to be productive members of society than we shouldn't prevent them from working at a retail store. Just because FAMILY DOLLAR has family in the name doesn't make it special. It is a freakin' retail store.

The parents of a child are responsible for the welfare of their child in a retail store, not the retail store. If you are shopping in a retail store keep control of your children. There is no reason for them to be unsupervised in a retail store so it shouldn't matter if the shelf stocker or the cashier had done time in the slammer for whatever.

If the person is following sentencing guidelines then what say does anyone have? If the judge felt he shouldn't work in retail then he would have said so.
