Smeco has owned the property where the solar farm is for several years, they have an additional 20 acres their that they havent used. Back in the woods where the new buildings are going, was going to be the ballpark.

With the building of the college,, the worse crappist eye sore of Hughesville will be history. (the shabby old house by the bypass)

They also have started working on a stopliight at Gallant Green Rd and Rt5.

Maybe Harley Davidson paid them off to clean up....

What are those buildings you mentioned that you can see from 5? Is it a industrial park?

I'm in St Mary's and I see no problem with the new campus going in Charles. I think we have enough traffic in Charlotte Hall as it is.
I didn't say any thing about who owns the property the solar farm is on, just that it is in Hughesville? I think it was part of the Herbert family farm at one time but doesn't really matter; still ugly.

I mentioned distances from PF and LAPLATA and someone else mentions distances as well as other reasons for it to be in Hughesville.

I must say that even though many of your posts make me and I don't always agree with your perspective... I always read your posts as they often make me think outside the box.
