Dear Mr.Bohanan,

I am a law-abiding citizen and responsible gun owner.

I am saddened by the tragic events in Newtown, Connecticut, but I believe that efforts to impose new restrictions on me and other lawful and responsible owners like me are misguided. Did you know that violent crime with firearms has declined since the Federal "assault weapons ban" expired in 2004?

Your focus should be on strengthening mental health care and improving the quality of data supporting NICs checks (National Instant Criminal Background Check System). Do NOT pass more gun laws; instead, work to enforce the more than 20,000 gun laws already on the books.

I am your constituent and I vote. Please represent me.

Sincerely,
(Your Contact Information)

OMalley and his Dems see the chance to get their liberal gun control agenda implemented....OMalley sees his chance to make a boatload of money on top of it.

Just to clarify, I cut/pasted the post 2 above from Ruger's website to make it easier to cut/paste for the rest of us gun loving right wing nut jobs to use.

Thanks for posting a sample that we can send to our reps in Annapolis, but from everything I have learned over the years, you need to state your position in the 1st line of your correspondence and reference the bill. These legislators don't care about the emotional stuff.

Example - Concerning House Bill 294, I urge you to vote AGAINST this because......

Just a suggestion. I will send an email to Bohanon today using some of your copy/paste verbiage.

Senator Dyson's e-mail:

Please be advised that my views on SB281/HB294 have not changed. There have been several robocalls made stating inaccurate information regarding my position. I will continue to fight with due diligence to defend our Second Amendment right to bear arms. I am against any new gun controls measures.

FYI - It just passed in the Senate. It has to be stopped in the House.

ANYONE that needs a ride to/from Annapolis please contact me by P-mail.

This is important! If you had plans tomorrow - CANCEL Them!

For our friends in northern Calvert Co., your own Senator admits that it is a bad bill and still voted for it.

Senate Approves Gov. O'Malley's Gun Control Bill, Next Stop The House - Southern Maryland Headline News

"After the bill was passed, Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller Jr., D-Calvert, said he “personally didn’t like the bill but (he) voted for it for society.” "

Bohanon is Steny's protege. You KNOW he isn't going to do any thing to disenchant the voters of the people he represents. (PG esp)

I would love to, but we need my income now more than ever as my wife is facing a 20% cut in her salary as a result of the 2% Sequester. We are recovering from her being out of work 15 years dealing with the effects of service connected disabilities.
