It has been a long running joke with a different forumite.
Ask Pixie about it.

In Maryland what you own or owe prior to getting married does not become half of the spouses upon marriage. Now if you add them to the deed and/or refinance with them then it does.

About living in the county...

I have lived in Charles, Calvert and St.MAry's counties. I lived in a little house just behind the back gate of CRE..That was nice unless you went to the street behind my house then people try to bash your mail box and run you down... Over all, I like Calvert best because it's less populated and seems a bit more rural than St.Mary's does now.
I have lived in Charles county, that sucked!!! It's too crowded for me.
I have lived in almost every town in St.Mary's county, having grown up here for the most part. I have had houses in Pax homes, Drayden, Ridge, Hollywood, Flat Tops(YIKES!!), Great Mills, Piney Point, and Leonardtown. I have considered moving back down south, but I grew up here for the most part and I have found by living in other places that it's all the same, it's what you make of it and your best bet is to keep to yourself no matter where you live. You can make a slum livable or a nice neighborhood a dump. I have a guy down the street who has a fence made of chicken wire and two by fours or something. He has about seven pit bulls and five vehicles in a two car drive. Then the guy on the other side of me has a perfectly manicured lawn with classy adornments. I guess you get what you get.

Which town homes are across the street from McKay's on Great Mills Rd? I don't remember what they are called, but when I was looking to buy about 3 years ago, I went to check out the show unit and the closet door fell on me! lol.... It was pretty funny and after that I was certain I wasn't going to buy or rent one there.

That's Westbury. I have seen alot of unsavories there. In general I thikn townhouses are crappy. I would prefer to live in a trailer on private land. I once looked in to buying a TH in Hunting Quarter but when I was shown the house you could hear everything the people next door where SCREAMING about.. I also looked at St George's Hundred. That seems like a nice neighborhood but your kids may have to ride the bus with kids from off of Norris Rd. which has alot of druggie types.
