I don't know what that guy in that earlier post was talking about keeping the bad district out of southern maryland was all about. The Dirstict is a very nice place to live. You have everything you need within walking distance, and you have the most expensive real estate located within the area. Besides as the District gets nicer and pricier that forces the residents from south east to live farther and farther out of DC, which means they're moving to southern maryland whether you like it or not. | |

| Transportation I think we shouldn't just look at it as a commuter service from here to there. I think we should look at an overall transportation plan. We don't neccessarily need our own version of Metro, but I do think that we should at least map out a foundation. We all know that the region is growing, and, I know in St. Mary's, it seems if you want to build a subdivision, they will let you build it anywhere (IMO). Prince Frederick is miserable, 235 to the base is miserable and Rt 5/301 is just crazy. I would settle for rail service from Waldorf to Branch Ave for now. If I could find a job in St. Mary's that pays what I make now, then I wouldn't have to commute. Looking on the county website, I couldn't take a job that only paid $24k a year. I say we work on getting MARC or something similar to start with, and get a tri-county transportation team to make an informed, and comprehensive regional transit system.

Put it in Lusby or St. Leonard, with another in Hollywood. A Pax stop wouldn't be such a bad thing for those who want to commute from Pax to DC - probably wouldn't be the busiest section of the line anyway.
