They can't even put up another bridge to replace the Thomas Johnson because A) there's no land for it and B) there's no money for it. Once BRAC goes through and the land for the Navy Rec Center goes back to Calvert, then they might be able to run a bridge between there and the state park on the other side. But if we can't even get a bridge for cars put up, how are they gonna put up a bridge for a train? Maybe they can use one bridge for both... ![]()

| I take the bus from Charlotte Hall into DC, and I gotta say that I don't wanna really see a train into our area. At first, I was all for it. But then I remembered why I moved away from Waldorf. Bringing the train down here would turn us into Southern Prince Georges Ghetto, and I'd rather not see that happen. After all, that's why there's that buffer between us called Charles County! ![]() Having the metro extend to Brandywine, or a train into that general area would help alleviate a lot of the current northbound congestion tremendously! ![]()

| Oh, the thought Good point. Well, there is the thought <shudder> of going under it. But that would be massive. Heck, build a tunnel for cars and trains LOL. They did it in B'more. We don't have to build right away, just lay out the plan. I agree we have to start small.

| Eww, not metro I agree that a "metro" like train is not good, although it works for Rockville. I am suggesting something more like the MARC train. I also think that if Metro is the answer, planning is the key to developing proplerly around a metro station. I mean, not to imply or sound racist, but lower income people tend to stay closer to "city services" and rely heavily on public transportation. Southern MD does not honestly have many 24 hr services. The MARC train runs from DC to Harper's Ferry W.VA. I think if WVA has rail service, we should be able to get something this way.
