I went down there in July when my daughter was doing Drum and Bugle Corps competition. During the day downtown Orlando was a ghost town, everyone stayed indoors due to the heat and humidity, then when it cooled off and you could go outside (when the sunset) the bugs ran you right back indoors again.

Tried to go swimmin on Daytona beach, and the water was disgustingly hot.. I felt slimey after swimming, like taking a dip in a dirty (REAL dirty) hot tub.

SoMD is PERFECT.. few days/ weeks it gets unbearably hot, few days it gets unbearably cold, other then that.. it's about as perfect a location as you can find.
