Guy that lives behind me was Air Farce, stationed for years in Ok. City. There are 1 or 2 houses in my neighborhood for sale right now. 1 that I know for sure is still available, the sellers have moved out (transferred by his company) and are paying 2 mort. so are VERY motivated to sell. Last I knew they were asking $299,900 but would probably take $275,00 at this point just to get out from under it. Paid 160,00 3 years ago. I am about 45 minutes north of the base, but in one of the best school districts for elem. school in the county.

There are little or no "decent" prices in my opinion. Used to be the Ranch Club had the bigger bang for the buck. Anyone know if it's that way still?

Great info! Thank you so much! I'm glad to know that the weather is the same. The only thing that bugs me about Oklahoma is the wind! It blows all the time! :)

We probably aren't going to get serious on house hunting until around October time frame, but I am glad to hear about the school district. We don't have kids, but when our 4 years are up, that might be a good sell point.

Pretty amazing how many people know people who are connected to you in one way or another. Thanks again for all the replies.

I know that there are no decent prices, we have been very spoiled in Oklahoma. Our house here is 1400 sq ft. According to the prices that I have seen in Maryland it might go for 200 or more, but when we sell we can probably only get 110. It's amazing the pricing difference.

That's where I'm from...Edmond to be exact. My mother still lives there. My hubby wants to move out there in a couple years. The price for houses out there is SO much different than here. It's amazing.
