Life OUT of Southern Maryland

Hub & kids always want to go to the same place every year for vacation. I really would like something different. Problem: they love the beach/water - I don't. However, I do like being outdoors. Ideas, PLEASE!!!

Go camping at the beach. You will be outdoors and they can go to the beach. We go to Pirate Land in S.C. every year. It is a blast.

Deep Creek Lake. They can fish and swim or whatever it is people do in the water, and you can sit on the deck and enjoy life.

Where do you usually go?

Rocky Gap State Park has really nice camping and a nice beach built on one side of the lake....if you want to go a little further away try Lake Lure NC is really nice...they have a lot of good websites and The hicking at nearby chimney rock is great

You can check out the Toe River Lodge. Nice little B&B not far from Chimney Rock in Plumtree. If anyone likes to fish, there are huge catfish in Lake Lure.

Very nice choice, but he said the wife and kids are into the beach so a big lake doesn't satisfy us beach people.
