Good Nail Salon

I am thinking of getting my nails done. You know, the acrylic or fiberglass ones. I don't know much about them. Which is best to get and least harmfull for your nails? Also, does anyone know of a really good place to get your nails done. One that looks really natural and not too thick?

I would appreciate your help. Thanks.

I would go acrylic if you've never had it done before.

Although I decided to stop having it done, my salon of choice was always Kim's Nails...right near where the old Sugar Shack used to be on Great Mills Road (behind the Big Lots). They do great pedicures there, too...

I think all said and done a new set of acrylic tips with paint and whatnot will run you about $30. If you ask your technician to make the acrylic thin, it will look more natural----and don't get them terribly long, either, at least not to start.

Keep in mind that once you commit to acrylic nails, you're looking at having to get them done at a MINIMUM once every two weeks.

Acrylic or fiberglass ones will usually cause your own nail to be thin and flimsy. I stopped getting the acrylic ones years ago and it took nearly a year for my own nail to grow strong again.

I get the gel too and never have any trouble with them popping off or breaking. I can sometimes go 3 weeks between fills. Very strong nails. I go to L & L Nails in the Ltown Centre. Very nice couple runs it. I highly recommend them. Very quick too.
