I work for an attorney who prefers "towards." I always thought toward was the correct usage. After he insisted contintually that he wanted to use "towards" I did some research. It is perfectly correct to use towards. And he doesn't sound ignorant at all.

I have other pages printed out at work but I'm on vacation this week.

In the legal world, it may be acceptable. In the journalism world (from which I hail), it is not.

Either way, I think it sounds ignorant ... simply b/c there is no use for the 's' at the end.

I don't find that funny at all. It's horrible that you would insinuate such a thing.
