Question Does anyone know?

Just out of curiosity, are there others here living on base, or maybe some that just might know this. Is there any plans for new construction of new units? I think I have heard in Wildewood, and should be open next summer. Anybody know about this? I can't stand this housing, I am in Conrad Heights hating it, this is the smallest, crappiest housing I have ever been in...

Count your blessings, I've seen worse.

If you don't like it, why don't you rent or buy?

Just moved into base housing at Conrad Heights. It isn't that bad. I was renting out in town and got tired of the cops coming for the apt next to me. I would finish work and have 4 cop cars in the parking lot sametimes. The apt was small also with no yard or privacy fence.

I have lived in run down housing. Anyone ever lived in the white townhomes outside of Oceana? I lived in substandard housing here in 90-91 while waitng for GF. Any housing with no rent or utilities was better than rental rates in town. JMO.

I remember the ones in Oceana 88-91. Didn't they even have trailers that were deemed base housing at one time?

The little base housing shacks that used to be inside the fence on 235 between gate 2 and 3. Oh my god, were they small.

I am disabled with a degenerative spinal cord disorder, I cannot climb steps easily, and there are no one level units in Glenn Forrest, and the ones here are few and far between too. Right now I am living in a 2 story, because all those singles were full, but as soon as possible, we will be moved. And even though I cannot work, the government doesn't think they need to give me disability. A single income doesn't go all that far, that is why we do not move out. I have been debating this, but BAH sure isn't a whole heck of alot, and you can't find much to rent in those price ranges. That is why I was curious if anyone knew of anything soon to be built, if that is not bad, perhaps I would hold off on moving out...
