| Moving From Florida to Maryland/Marlow Heights 60s and 70s Special Newsletter Dear Friends of Marlow Heights 60s and 70s,
Here are some of the latest additions to the Marlow Heights 60s and 70s web site:
I don't normally send out the newsletter so soon after the last one, but this is a special one to me. As some of you might know, I'm relocating within my company from Florida to Maryland and will arrive in the area November 29. My family and I will be staying in Bethesda in company provided lodging until we find a home to purchase. Right now we're concentrating on areas inside (or close to) the Beltway of Montgomery County, such as Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Kensington, and Potomac. If we can't find anything based on our preferences within our price range, we'll have to look further out. If anyone has any suggestions for great communities with excellent schools, I'd love to hear from you.
You'll notice that I haven't included anything within my search area for Prince Georges County. If I based my home search on sentimentality alone, I would have looked only in Prince Georges County. And to be fair. there are some nice developments, some even within a stone's throw from my old neighborhood of Marlow Heights. However, I have two young children in school, one 10 and the other 14 months old, so excellent schools are the #1 search criteria for our next home. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any communities within Prince Georges County that offer great schools and are safe. Then there is the crime factor to consider. I'd love for someone to prove me wrong, but until that happens, I'll stick to looking in Montgomery County. As for other areas, I have no desire to live in Northern Virginia again, and Charles, St. Mary's, Calvert, Howard, and Anne Arundel counties are farther than I'd care to drive to work (I'll be working in the western end of Bethesda (off of Sangamore, close to Clara Barton Parkway).
That aside, I just wanted to let everyone know that my response times to your emails may lag a bit during my transition. I do make it a point to answer everyone that emails my site, but give me a few days in this interim period. The same goes for Guest Book entries. I have to approve each and every entry, and usually do so the same day it is submitted, or the next day. Other than that, I will have all data files for my site backed up to an external drive and available to me on the laptop I'll be using. If you have any stories, information, or content you'd like to add to the site, send it, and I'll get to it usually within a few days.
Keep the memories alive, |
