Call or visit the doll and train show at the St. Clement's Island Museum, they may be to direct you to someone who can help you. My wife and MIL had to send dolls down to Williamsburg to get some dolls done. Hope this helps.

I believe I have seen a doll shop on Clark's landing road, on the right about 1/2 way down.

What's it made of and what does it need?

the body is stuffed, the face and hands appear to be ceramic. it seems to need just a cleaning and some work on the hair. maybe some minor repairs to the clothing as well.

I think there is a ceramic shop there in prince frederick. Also in Waldorf there is a ceramic shop too and the lady makes custom dolls.

I had a doll fixed by the lady in Waldorf and she did a great job. She is on 301 by the big paint can near Pinefield. Hope that helps.

be careful what you have done with it.

I purchased a set of Porceline dolls for my daughter last year that were made in 1870 something or another, they came with the history, who they were custom made for the owners since then etc...
They were in need of repair, one was missing a leg. we found a place in Virginia that worked on these things and the guy told me that he could fix them up but it would ruin the value.

the dolls are sitting in her doll curio just as we got them. the only thing we did was to put the doll missing the leg in a wheel chair so she wouldnt fall, we then put the other doll behind the chair like she was pushing her old friend along.

not that I like dolls, cause I dont,, Im not gay or nothing... not that theres anything wrong with that.
