| Yeah, another insane imposing law! If I want to start up my car in the morning to let the engine warm up when it is cold I dam* well will. I can start it with a spare key and lock it while I finish up in the house. Laws that make something a criminal act that doesn't impinge on someone elses rights are ignorant, let alone unconstitutional. The government really likes being our masters, I wonder if it will ever be a government for the people again?

| I don't think the law was implied just from the theft aspect. I bet the EPA got in on it. |

| This law has always been around. It is just being brought to everyones attention with the rise in car thefts. I remember someone getting a ticket back in `85 for leaving their car running outside of hardee's. It's not just Charles Co., it is a law in the state. |

As far as cars being illegal because they can be driven too fast? They also have legal uses, but how can a device with only one use which is illegal possibly be legal itself? Does that make any sense? | |

| I am glad I read this thread because I didn't know it was illegal in charles county yet. I start my car every morning and let it warm up for like 5-10 minutes....thats a crazy law. I can't believe they can really fine you for having your car running in your own private yard/driveway. I hope I never get a fine for it then because I can't see putting my kids in the car at 530 am in 20 degree weather. |
