sounds to me like I'd be applying for a personal servant position or something, although I'm not knocking it... somehow I don't know that I'd be ok with that personally, I'd like to aim a little higher. There are other things I like to do and are more qualified and capable of doing.

Everyone here hates to go to the market!! So no-one does....
My husband does most of the grocery shopping. He says I spend too much money and don't come back with much, which is true. But when he goes, I feel I have to go again cuz he doesn't get the "good stuff" you know the junk food. Each week he gets the basics, bread, milk etc.

Then once a month we go "Big" grocery shopping where we stock up on meats and split them into portions in freezer bags. The sad thing is, we have the food in the freezer but we forget to take it out in the morning UGHHH! He also cooks most of the dinners. He is home by about 3:30, I don't get home until 7:00 so he doesn't cook those "real" meals I guess I would call it. Maybe I just need to make myself start taking things out and putting it in the crock pot the night before. I have one that has 4 settings, low 6 hours, low 10 hours, high 6 hours, high 10 hours. Then when it finishes it switches to warm. So if I put it on at 10pm it will just be getting done when I leave for work, I can either leave it on warm all day or put it in the fridge and have my hubby reheat it. Man it sounds like a good plan, why don't I do it more?

I also have one of those set it and forget it rotisseries that I don't use.

I got a little anxious and stir crazy a few weeks ago and threw out my resume' to a bunch of headhunters and had about 5 that wanted to meet me right away, take tests, register, go on interviews, already, etc... but I have to be patient and wait for the job toss up that happens in January... also I can only stick with one headhunter agent. Kind of like when you buy a house, you stick with one agent and only with their clients/job offerings. So, it was premature, but did sound promising. I LITERALY CAN'T WAIT to earn a living again and be a productive member of society, etc... Cabin Fever is definately NOT for me. When people meet me I'm tired of saying what I used to do for a living, etc... now I just say I'm a Domestic Diva of One or a Single Housekeeper... Also, I've been heavily considering temping/to hire that way I can pick out the firm I'll be going to work for and stick it out with for the next 15 years or so.

k-I'm not reading this entire thread. It's bed time for me.

Anyway has the term pressure cooking come up? It's quick, easy. BUT I found very scary-even for as many years as I've done it. I've alway's had problems regulating the temp unless I was canning...... course my pressure cooker is huge and made specifically for canning... Anyway, I finally bought an electric one. Got it today, it's huge, more then big enough for 'family' size meals and should be a lot safer (or make me feel safer about it!). I can let you know how it goes, I'm planning to use it tomorrow night.

Just a thought. Good luck.

Hmm....didn't think of it as a....low rent job.....being a business owner doesn't suit? i thought that was called a "personal shopper"? Me I HATE to shop. The key to sticking with something is get to know yourself, and then do what you LOVE, so it's not work. That's always been my philosophy, and I've always loved the positions I worked in. I've also never applied for "just any ole thing" my SIL is amazed at the variety of places I've worked, they're all so "cool"

I would loooove to be a personal shopper at a high end department store. I know that's not what you're talking about here, but thought I'd chime in anyways.

I never said I didn't know how to stick with something, the last field I stuck in was for 17 years

That sounds good, but it also sounds like a field where a little too much mind reading would be involved in. Something will come up!
