Do one long run per week with at least two maintenance runs per week. Keep increasing the distance on your long runs. Focus more on speed work on your shorter runs. Set goals. If you can get yourself to running 5.0 miles at least once a week, you can definately run a 10k. Adrenaline will carry you the other 1.2.
