BTW..I don't racall if it was a "Cat-Shot" or not. But that's the runway it took off from. Any plane that does take off from TC-7 would be on the same course. 320!
Settle down. I know it was a bounce, not a cat shot. Either way, it was bad ju-ju. The pilot got out, and thought he was clear, then the plane hit the truck. There was no fault, but someone still died.

The F/A-18 crash was not after a cat shot or during bouncing. The acft was RTB with a flight control failure. Multiple cautions and resets of the flight control computers were conducted by the pilot. Final failure could not be reset and acft entered an uncommanded roll. Pilot and back seater ejected as acft was rolling towards the ground. Root cause was a CCDL (cross channel data link) failure between the flight control systems.

So, those of you who work down there, how often do you have to yield?

I've had to do it twice. One time when I worked here before, and once since I've been back.

Did you give the guy behind you a great big finger? Even if there was no sign, common sense would dictate that you don't zip underneath a landing aircraft. Duh.

There have also been numerous aircraft ground fatalities at Pax.
