| I always hold the door for the next person and say "thank you" to the person who holds the door for me. I have taught my 11 year old son to do the same thing. However, on several occasions he has held the door open for a lady and the man behind her walks out too without taking the door from my son. My son, on numerous occasions, has held the door for multiple people to go in and out and not one of them has offered to take the door from him. He won't let go of it because he is afraid it will hit someone. He ends up just walking away shaking his head saying "how rude".

Those white collar guys that cut in front of you just might be gay, gay guys usually don't like to get their hands dirty.

| Readking this post reminded me of the letter I sent to the Enterprise (which they did not post???) Some people are just lame, rude and lazy... Her it goes... "I would like to address the person who, about two weeks ago on a Friday, for some reason was unable to return their shopping cart to any of the several return stations in the California area Target parking lot. Not that you care, but this resulted in your unmanned cart finding its way into the side of my vehicle. You know who you are because, like myself, you were parked pretty far away from the store (which I do intentionally to avoid being the victim of careless and clueless individuals like yourself) and there were quite a few extremely large utility trucks parked in the same area. Now that I am calmer and somewhat less irked by your obvious inability to recognize the value of someone else’s property, I am curious to know…are you so busy – so much more busy than everyone else that manages the possible 10-15 seconds it takes to return their carts, that you feel you don’t need to? Or, is it possible that you suffer from a severe case of Megalomania? I am guessing you are one of those self centered individuals that truly believe you are special and are above certain simple acts that most people perform on a daily basis (and do so without much thought). I would also think it is safe to assume you are the person that when entering a door doesn’t have a clue there may be someone close behind you, thus why hold the door? I know. Why should you? You are too busy. Your world is moving much faster than everyone else’s is on the planet. But how could we forget, the world revolves around people like you! Okay, better yet, someone holds the door for you and you walk right through without a thank you, because by gosh, you are the epicenter of your own universe, and ours, in your own little mind! I am curious, are you that obnoxious, huffy and rude individual in front of me in the 10 item or less express line at the grocery store with your 15+ items? I might bet money on that one. I would not, however, bet money on the fact that even after reading this you might have a clue what I am getting at. How could you? You are busy thinking of yourself. Fortunately, for the rest of us in the real world, there are conscientious, kind and considerate people that take the time to return a cart (so it doesn’t pound into the side of someone else’s vehicle), they hold doors, they say thank you, and they just try to be considerate of others. I know it is beyond the realm of your selfish (and I forgot to mention lazy) mentality to understand that simple acts of consideration bring most individuals a sense of kindness and humanity in a world that is full of self-absorbed individuals, like yourself, that continue to blaze swaths of destructive inconsideration and rudeness through the every day lives of the rest of us. Not to mention dinging up our vehicles. " |
