You need to enlist the services of a good agent, and buy something here. The market keeps growing and most homes seem to double in value within 30-36 months...or so it seems. You pay a bit more, but you get one heck of a tax break, plus you are building equity...which is the only way most folks in the military can build any kind of nest egg.

Try this link:

Hank sold my home for me, and being a veteran himself, understands the needs and concerns of Navy and Marine Corps families.

Good luck in your tour at Pax, and if anyone offers you some stuffed ham, dont ask what it is, but enjoy.

Thanks for all the info everyone. If we do end up living out in town we'll definately buy. We're renting a townhouse right now for way under our BAH and I still hate throwing the money away every month. We've got our names on the waiting list for Glenn Forest if all else fails... I'm kind of scared of living there for some reason, though.. heard some mixed reviews from people.

Most of all. I don't want to leave Hawaii!!! :(

Go to homes and do a property search using 20653 as the zip. Most of the listings will tell you the distance to Pax River. If you end up living in the 20653 zip you will be within 5-20 mins of the base.

That guy really needs to go in and clean up the grounds it's trashy looking. Are you down this way? I'm trying to collect names for a Meet and Greet maybe this summer, monks schiebles someplace down this end of the county. Interested maybe?
We're down this way, and we just did a meet and greet two week-ends ago, where were you??

I'm on Trapp Road too. I got nosey one day quite awhile back when they were redoing some stuff inside that big house and stopped by. Just walked right in the open door and the guy let me look around. It's really pretty inside. I know it was for rent for 1400 a month. I didn't realize they'd decided not to rent it and just to sell it again now. 900 grand?

Was it past nine? If so I was probably asleep. I usually just get on the forum at work when it's slow (lately it's all I can do to stay awake). Must have been a busy week. I guess it will be a bit before ya'll are up for another huh? How'd it turn out? Does anyone know why Donna Maries carryout was forced out?
