A dog almost causes an accident in which people could have been hurt? And all we can say is "Glad the puppy did not get hurt"

and not one of you are willing to say what should be said.

A human life is more important than an animal. Not the other way around.

Sorry, but I think it is better to help a dog get acorss the road and prevent an accident then to just let it fend for itself.

Exactly. The accident almost happened because the dog was in the roadway. Because most drivers are not azzhats, they will do all they can to not hit an animal. Therefore, removing the animal probably helped prevent a real incident.
