I looked at the road today I thought they had extended it..... To keep two lanes.

Even quicker detour going south in the afternoon traffic....

Turn right onto Cracklingtown Rd (just before the curve at Mitchell's Building Supply)...follow that until it comes to a "T" at 231...turn left and it brings you to the light in Hughesville.

The road is a cone maze mess.

I was traveling thru Hughesville on my way home from work Tuesday and watched the car in front of me lock up brakes and smash into the ass end of the car in front of him. It is so bad when you see this so often that you just glance over, say to yourself “don’t look like anyone is hurt” and switch lanes to get around it.

I witness about 3 accidents in that area every month, so it makes me wonder what I don’t see.

Its only one lane during the day from after morning rush hour and till about 3pm. looks like Monday-Friday.

Wait till later this summer when they switch the lanes on the south side of the project, looks like northbound will switch over just past McKays in the area of Deborah Dr. into the southbound side and continue around the curve (Deadman's Curve) and into Hughesville.

I can't believe there has not been a accident at Gallent Green Rd., people trying to make a left onto Rt. 5, there is no median or accelaration lane now.
So far so good, the firehouse hasn't run one there yet.

If you take 381 to 231 to 5 you still have major backup at the light and sometimes all the way back to Old Fields Chruch.

Will be nice when the by-pass opens then the backups will start at McKays and also Oaks Rd stoplights, proably all the back to the bypass.

Thank you for the heads-up! I need to drive up to Waldorque today so I'll be looking for an alternate route.

I think they have changed it so there is no left turn off of Gallent Green Rd onto Rt 5 now. My husband said there are signs up and new road lines but on Sunday people were still ignoring it and trying to make a left. You have to turn right and then make a U-turn to come back south. Making a left was an accident waiting to happen. As you said, no median or acceleration. I'm still amazed, but not surprised, how fast people continue to drive thru there. Speed limit is 40 but most are going 60 plus!
