Sadly, we don't have any "personalities" on the radio now in So. Md.

Yes it was bank robery, late 70's if I remember correctly, they robbed a local bank and evaded cops all over the county, were caught several years later. Did you ever meet him in person? He had a terrible stuttering problem and couldn't say 2 words together, you would never have guessed he was the same person on the radio.

Thank you. I thought I had it right. Yes, it was in the late 70's that this happened. I don't think I ever met him face-to-face and am glad I didn't.

That would be me. I am glad I am memorable for something :) You know, the funny thing is that the last time I worked at SOMAR I was told "six months after you leave, no one will remember your name." Well, it's been seven years...

I had a great time in radio. I met lots of really wonderful people, and was amazed and humbled at the response of Southern Maryland when my daughter was born, and when I received my cancer diagnosis. No way you'll ever find me talking bad about the radio audience in this area... no way at all.

Dee Jay!!

Hey Girlie, I am good. Yeah I remember now that the Spousal Unit said he emailed you and you fixed the problem. By the way, the classifieds have been absolutely fabulous for us, (we sold lots of stuff when we moved recently) and I recommend this site (and even this forum!) to anyone who needs a website about this area. So... thanks!

Thank you! Glad to know you're doing well in the "post-SOMAR" world.

I wasn't trying to make fun of his disability. At the time I was working at Radio Shack and he used to come in all the time for the station. Seemed like an OK guy and was suprised about the bank robery thing.
