If you look at the replies to this thread, you'll see why there are so many problems out on the road

Everyone feels that they have and are the solution and continue to drive as such.

Good on ya!

You rode the left lane for ten miles, but he's the assclown? While what you were doing is legal, it is rude. The fact that you were aware that he wanted to get around you, but were stubborn about it is also aggresive driving. Would it really have hurt you to stay right for nine of those miles? Wouldn't it have been safer to move over and get the guy off your azz?

It's not always about right and wrong, sometimes it is about courtesy.

I have removed the rear-view and side mirrors on all my vehicles so I have no clue if there is anyone behind me or not. Gumbo told me to.

And the guy couldn't have gone around him on the right?

That's what I was just about to post... if you are in the left and come upon a car going slower than you want to be going, you simply go around it... why the need for road rage?

It's the "I'm going to teach him a lesson" mentality.

I'm not saying the tailgater was right, but why add to the road rage when moving right is polite and safe?

Then there's the indignity of actually having someone in front of you and not being the leader of the pack.....

Plus most drivers are plain oblivious.
I take exception to that. I always accommodate someone that uses their turn signal to indicate a desire to change lanes. Now if you don't signal, I'll play with you, especially if I'm in my car.
After 30+ years of riding a bike, I've become very good at reading other drivers intentions and prefer to err on the side of caution.
