Anyone in CRE

We are thinking of Moving there...maybe...I want N.C. but no work...AT ALL. So we drove through CRE, heard it was affordable. The yard in there are horrible but the prices are reasonable. Can anyone tell me about this area, which is better as far as area in CRE, I heard there were "BAD" parts, so can someone bive me some information, also, how long to DC? Traffic at 4 AM?

Thanks a million

I can't help you with the commute part of your question as I don't work outside the home....

BUT, I do live in CRE. I live by the back gate right on a main road. I have a nice home, yard etc. I can't say the same for my neighbors who have a wild jungle growing and the other neighbors who use their front yard as a parking lot. I don't know what areas are considered "bad" as we have only been here for 1 year.

My mother lives on the opposite side, near the front gate, and she has a very large, beautiful home, 4 lots on the lake.

When we first moved here, the lot we looked at was $30K. 1 year later that same lot is sitting at $70K.

I am also interested to hear about the "bad" parts. We had several issues with property destruction when we first moved in. Our backyard was once used as a CUT THROUGH for the kids getting to their bus stop.

HTH

I live there.........there aren't really any bad parts, unless your just talking about old run down homes. It usually takes me about 1 hour and 15 minutes to get to the MCI center in DC.....and thats leaving my house at 4 a.m. It usually takes me about 1 hour 30 minutes to get back home.....and thats at 2:30 p.m.

sicko :)

I think CRE is decent, I havent heard of any slums, The yards usually do suck, but marine has a decent big yard front and back. More than the average house over in CRE that is for sure !

The worst part of living in CRE is trying to give somebody directions to your house.
