Good stuff. Got some grub for the family on Saturday, and all said "yum".

Used to use Pandora One, but they changed their skip policy such that it was harsher than before - 6 skips per hour per station, to (I think) 6 skips/hour over all stations. I went to slacker, where I pay $4/month, and have unlimited skips. The phone interface is nicer as well.

I find pouring half a bottle of Nyquil in the neti pot clears me up for a week.

I have that TV too! Just got it, not too long ago. Fun thing - a new button on the iPad shows up, just so my kid can unilaterally take over the TV and show everyone the cat video he was just watching. Good times.

I've been using Windows 8.1 for about a month now on a couple of machines, and have it nicely configured to resemble the Win7 way of doing things. The switch between the tiles/apps and the regular desktop is not nearly as jarring if you have it set up to mostly resemble the old way of doing...

I subscribe to a service that streams albums played on a turntable, routed through a tube amplifier, and captured with a Neumann microphone. The sound is un_believeable, you can feel the warmth of the bits.

It is about $78B below the FY11 request. DoD is anticipated to get $512B for FY11 total - original request was ~$549B. That's a big chunk of difference, which will have an impact here. I know of a few big programs that can't get off the ground because of this.

I went to Allegro to talk to them about regluing the bridge to my guitar, and they told me that they don't do that kind of work, they send it all out to someone. They didn't sound like they wanted to get the job or the money.
