    dragon fly up close

    This one was sitting on my deck, very weak and unable to fly. I did what most of us would do and grabbed the camera,the 105mm with a couple extention tubes and the tripod.

    focal length was 105mm. About 1.5-2ft from the dragon fly. At DOFmaster.com i used 1.75 ft and it calculates the DOF of 1/4". I may have been a little further from the subject but not much.

    Thanks for all the compliments. I didn't realize there were still this many people watching the forum. Canon 40d. 70-200mm. All shots taken at 200mm with the camera resting on the deck rail about 5 feet from the hummers. I have had the best results trying to keep the shutter around 1/500...
