    Charles Co. chickens

Our plan was 6 so it's good to hear someone confirm that is an appropriate number for a family. Eggs are one of the few protein sources my son eats regularly, and the shortage freaked me out. I know that it's going to be awhile before these chicks start laying, but I like knowing I am doing...

    Charles Co. chickens

LOL. We didn't have chickens then. These were people worried about whether someone put a french door instead of a sliding door on their back deck.

    Charles Co. chickens

We used to live in a townhouse with an HOA. The busybody shrews were so active they were peeking between the cracks in people's privacy fences. We specifically looked for a house without an HOA when we moved, and yet here we are. You just can't win :roflmao:

    Charles Co. chickens

We're just going to go ahead and do whatever and see what happens I guess. My closest neighbor knows about them and doesn't have a problem (or didn't say to my face). My next closest neighbor I can't even see from my house. It just really bothers me that the county has this overly restrictive...

    Charles Co. chickens

Does anyone else find the rules for keeping chickens in Charles County ridiculous? I have been interested in keeping them for awhile, but with the current situation I managed to convince my husband it would be nice to have egg laying hens. I never even considered it would be an issue since I...

Official Charles Co. Flood Thread -- Thurs 08-SEP

Thanks for the concern. We did actually make it home. We took 210 instead of 301 and didn't have too much trouble when we came through via Mason Springs to Poorhouse at about 8:00. We were mostly worried about our two dogs being trapped in the first floor bedroom if there was massive flooding.

Official Charles Co. Flood Thread -- Thurs 08-SEP

Anyone know if Poorhouse Road is closed in it's entirety? Or can we access from one end? I'm not sure how we're going to get home since we live approximately half way down Poorhouse.

    backhoe

Actually, I meant I can set up the pond by myself. Depending on how much they charged I'd be willing to have someone else do the digging. :-)

    backhoe

I want to dig a big hole in my backyard for a pond. I only need the hole dug, since I can do the rest myself. Anyone know where I can rent a backhoe and have it delivered to the house? I'm in Chuck County.

What's up with this stupid bunny?

I know what you mean. We were on our way to Virginia Saturday and my husband pointed out a mother duck crossing the 301 with her ducklings. We slowed down to let them cross (they were pretty much clear of our lane so we weren't even stopped just slowing) and there wasn't much traffic so I...

    maryland hardshell crabs

Hi, I live in Waldorf and I'm hoping someone might have a suggestion for where I can get some hardshell crabs. I'm hoping to get some for a barbecue next weekend. I'm not really sure what the season is, but I think it usually starts around this time. We used to go to Annapolis Seafood but...
