With that established, they were fine with a moral code that addressed a wide range of behaviors: acceptable & NOT. (Take a close look at the Judeo-Christian core found in the vast majority of our early state constitutions).

Lets face it, none will repent unless the Spirit provokes their heart. Will weak-wristed "anything you do is fine because God loves you" actually bring repentance? "MAY it never be!" says St Paul many times. So that leaves only ONE path: teaching (exhorting) what is right, cutting off what is wicked (dead...things of this world)....and a DESIRE to please GOD, not man.
