With that established, they were fine with a moral code that addressed a wide range of behaviors: acceptable & NOT. (Take a close look at the Judeo-Christian core found in the vast majority of our early state constitutions).

As we have moved farther away from that code of ethics, we have to argue all the more with idiots who would prefer a atheistic/marxist code of "ethics."
So...those who say "well Jesus didn't condemn gays..." could just as easily say that Jesus didn't say anything about the Western Hemisphere,...thus we don't exist.
We have to go by the morale code he reinforced: and that included severe punishments for homosexual behavior and forgiveness for those who REPENT.
Lets face it, none will repent unless the Spirit provokes their heart. Will weak-wristed "anything you do is fine because God loves you" actually bring repentance? "MAY it never be!" says St Paul many times. So that leaves only ONE path: teaching (exhorting) what is right, cutting off what is wicked (dead...things of this world)....and a DESIRE to please GOD, not man.
So if is "popular" to preach tolerance, and things that tickle your ears...you will have no part in the kingdom> That is not my opinion, that is scripture.

Dump our heritage, reinterpret scripture, babble about OT laws that don't apply to gentiles, and sing "all we need is LOVE!" at the top of your lungs:
That does NOT bring repentance, and with no repentance: there is no salvation.
Having six months to write a document and forgetting to put in what you consider to be he most important part doesn't speak we'll for the authors. Now if we apply Occam's razor to the situation, it's not in there because they didn't want it in there. "Don't get into the silly "But the constitution doesn't mention God!" argument." I'd say your argument is the unsupported, and therefore, silly.

Marriage between queers (that started this thread) is undeniably aborrent,...and against everyone's conscience: UNLESS: they have smothered their conscience, and are grasping at excuses while condemning those who cling to what WAS right,...and IS right....and forever will be right.

Also,...there is NO guarrantee for "Love"...please stop morphing the Declaraton the way you morph Holy writ.
I don't find it abhorrent at all and I do have a very well developed conscience. It's so well developed that I find that I have no reason to hate people for who they fall in love with, if only Christians could do the same.

#Positioned in front of a Christmas tree in the Grand Foyer of the White House, 35-year-old Matthew Phelps asked his 26-year-old boyfriend, Ben Schock, to marry him on Dec. 15. The proposal marks the first time two gay men have gotten engaged inside the White House, as well as the first time for an active-duty member of the US military.

How romantic!! I think it's awesome. I wish them happiness and hope everything works out well for them.

Lest anyone ever forget what a typical, backwoods, southern Maryland inbred bigot sounds like they need not look any further than this thread. Gotta love the cloak of anonymity for which the Internet provides.

When was the last time a news outlet reported about any other couple getting engaged at the White House? What makes this stunt newsworthy? I mean if everyone wants to accept gays as mainstream, then why the special report about an seemingly everyday occurrence?

I wonder how the captain is going to survive his friendly fire incident.
