2013 JAN 22 -- Naval Air Station Traffic Alert

NAVAL AIR STATION PATUXENT RIVER, Md. – Due to a developing administrative demand on our security forces, on Tuesday, Jan. 22, NAS Patuxent River will implement reduced gate manning similar to that which was implemented through the recent holiday season.

Recommend all personnel adjust their arrival routines accordingly. Staggered arrivals have proven to be a highly effective mitigation to gate congestion.
While we expect duration of this condition to be short, the ultimate end date is to be determined.

We appreciate your patience as we work through this situation.

Just after the recent shift in hours, mainly on gate 3, I went through gate 1 at approximately 0900. One vehicle lane was open, but there were three guards working the truck lane.

The belt tightening begins. New travel restrictions are in effect, too.

Extremely limited. Must be mission essential.

You can still go to work, you just can't travel unless you get SES approval.
