God help you if you're an over 65 Mil Retired

When TRICARE FOR LIFE was passed a dozen years ago, retired military members of any age were guaranteed pharmacy benefits and (if needed) healthcare in military medical facilities within a reasonable driving distance. Then 2010 the government decided that those over 65 years of age should be turned loose since they would get the abundant MEDICARE benefit. < insert sarcasm smiley here> So, as a retiree who had been under TRICARE PRIME I was told to find someplace to get my healthcare outside the MTF. Hired onto the Johns-Hopkins TRICARE PRIME program and paid the same enrollment as when I was at the MTF. With the Johns-Hopkins program I am (1) forbidden to get prescriptions filled at the MTF and (2) forbidden to purchase a supplemental health insurance. Prescriptions get filled at Rite-Aid with same co-pays as at the MTF (none). Now I'm told that deal's no longer good since THE WON doesn't want to cut entitlements for the illegals. Here's the new co-pays deal snapped on me within three days of implementation: Benefit Updates - New Copays for Some TRICARE Pharmacy Customers. What a crock of shiat!

Why are there not any class action lawsuits regarding military benefit reduction? The day I retired I had a set of benefits that the government claimed I earned so how can they cut them? Why aren't any lobby groups filing suits?

Now, if they are going to reduce my benefit, which I held up my end of the bargain for, by a percentage, then why are they not reducing SS benefits (it went up 1.7% 1 Jan), reducing food stamps, medicaid, medicare, etc? I will accept a given percentage reduction if EVERYBODY gets the same reduction!

I earned my benefit. Many people on SS, medicare, medicaid, and other program NEVER paid or served. F***ing BS!!!!!!!

And here's the kicker boys and girls. If you're a retiree on TriCare Prime and paying for it, (1) it's going to increase (2) when you're eligible for medicare you won't have any (3) if you're children/adults are handicapped and on TriCare, medicade won't be around to pick up anything (4) obamy care won't pickup anything that I can see unless you are an illegal alien or on welfare....and the list goes on and on. They're already talking about medicare and medicad going away along with disability for my son. Social Security? Don't see it happening for me. Obamy will take care of that. I'll work until I'm dead because I can't afford not to.

Oh the irony of conservatives like Lurk who b*tch and moan about socialism yet they spent a good portion of their life working under the largest socialist system in the world (U.S. Military). Let me guess, you're also that same guy who moans and complains about those who receive pensions as being part of the reason the country is failing (all while collecting a pension yourself). The only thing missing is you holding a sign that says "Tell Goverment to keep there hands off my medicare." And you wonder why people are running away from the conservative movement in droves....

perfectorec, you sir are a real jerk and an idiot. According to you, your biggest worry is going out and getting drunk and finding a taxi ride home.

You have the right to voice your opinion. I just wanted to say, "You are welcome!" before you thank me for serving to guarantee that right. I am curious though, what qualifications did you require to become a civilian? Correct english doesn't appear to be one (see above).

It would be useless to call you stupid since I don't think you would understand. If I were guaranteed medical care for the rest of my life if I were to serve 20 years or more and then denied that care due to a president that would rather cater to illegals, something is wrong with this system. But then you wouldn't understand this.

Not a single veteran has the benefits they were promised when they initially joined the branch of service of their choice. No matter who has sat in the oval office, each of them has taken something. They're nothing but a bunch of liars and thieves.

I was also told we would have dental benefits as well. That went away along time ago with one of the presidents. Obamy will see to it that I lose my medical benefits with the next 4 years, along with social security. I paid into social security all my life and now I probably won't see a penny or it will be greatly reduced.

Generally when conservatives are moaning and complaining about those who receive pensions are talking about public union pensions. After 20 years of service the old retirement system in the military paid 50% of base pay with 2% additionally per year. I don't know what the newer retirement system pays (I retired in '99). Since we never got overtime pay, we couldn't raise our salary on which our retirement was based.

I certainly don't see folks running away from the conservative movement. Much discussion with the movement is needed. The progressive movement (actually just a rehash of the progressive movement of the 1920s) is swelling due to illegals and others who think the government is Santa Claus.
