That's the thing about the 03, I honestly can't think of anything I would need to do EXCEPT, have a sissy bar bracket mounted.... Other than that, he has done EVERYthing else basically

Make sure they've put the modification in that quiets 5th gear down. When they came out with the 6 speed, alot of folks complained about the noisy 5th gear. Then they came out with a fix for it, but you had to buy it and pay to have it installed. You'd think they would have put it in as a recall type item.

Is it just "loud" as in it sounds loud to others around, or "loud" as in it doesn't sound right type of loud....

It is just gear whine. The 6 speed has 2 types of gears. 1st and 5th are cut straight, 2,3,4 and 6th are helical. the helical are quiet, 1st and 5th have a whine to them.

5th gear in particular is more noisey than the other gears. That's all.

Right, which I understand that part, but is it a "good" noise as in it sounds good, or is it an annoying sound I guess it what I need/want to know...

Who is good for insurance, I currently have State Farm, don't have any issues with them, just got off the phone and got a round about price on the 03 (just so I could get some numbers)....

Until I turn 25(this December) it would be 1350/yr, once I turn 25, 450/yr, and with them it doesn't matter whether or not I have a safety course under my belt or not (which the course through the college is considered a safety course)....

Wifey and I already have the 3 vehicles with them, so should I stick with them or is 450/yr high for a 25yr old...

After you ride a while and see what other people hav done to their bikes, you'll see things you'll want to add, replace or change.
Maybe some color matched Iron Braid levers or a set of Kuryakyn highway pegs, but you WILL modify
