Just watched Shockwave on the history channel, and they did the back story on one of the most famous motorcycle crashes ever. EVERY compilation motorcycle crash video I've seen it's been on there.

Milky Quayle crashes at >160 MPH.. Video shows him heading into a corner.

Every time I've seen it it only showed him from a spectator view sitting up on his bike before he hits the wall.. never knew his name or the story.

Now I find out he cut the prior corner too close and his shoulder rubbed a stone wall, pulling his hands off of the bars, and sitting him upright, and directly into the safety wall..

Hard to believe he lived to tell the story.. and gives credit to his riding gear for saving his life..
