Have you seen the newer version with Kurt Russell? I thought it was great and more than held a candle to the original. Usually redos are groaners, especially in the horror and science fiction genres, but John Carpenter did a solid job, in my opinion.

Carpenter's version is true to the original authors' intent but........
The original 51 film is much better !
Kurt Russell is boring and just another 'chick' thing !
The original B&W linked with Dimitri Tiomkin's soundtrack is far superior in photography and atmosphere !

Okay I'll probably take a flaming for this but I can't believe The Princess Bride wasn't even in the showing!!! That movie is so good on so many levels.
