M. Night Shyamalan

I've enjoyed Shyamalan's work immensely. Although a decent movie, I thought The Sixth Sense was overrated. I much more enjoyed the comic book come-to-life story Unbreakable. Signs was also like The Sixth Sense for me, it was ok. It was actually a superb film until they showed the 'monster/alien' which I disagree with Shyamalan's decision. Although Hollywood may have had a say in that. The Villiage I thought was one of his best works. There was more thought and fright put into the film than blood and guts and meaninglessness. I likened it to horror and thriller films of the past and unlike those of today, which are a dime-a-dozen. His last film, Lady in the Water, was also interesting and had great acting by Paul Giamatti. All of Night's films have numerous meanings imbedded within; that's what I personally enjoy.

I was wondering what his next piece would be about. In comes, The Happening where some sort of natural crisis causes people to begin killing themselves. Sounds somewhat intriguing. Cast includes Mark Wahlberg, Zooey Deschanel, and John Leguizamo. It supposedly hits theatres on June 13.

Sorry folks, don't see this film at leat not until it hits dvd.

The film is beautifully crafted and is visually stunning. The acting is decent although Mark Wahlberg is out of character and out of place at times.

Let me tell ya', the plot really bites. This one really works you up for nothing.

I won't give away what's "happening" or the ending but I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would.

For me, this was the worst Shyamalan film to date.

Not to freaky, just enough to still be a lady but just freaky enough to arouse a man's attention.
