The Kite Runner

Rented it this past weekend. Without a doubt one of the best films I've ever seen.

Did you see Alpha Dog? I couldn't watch the climax of the movie, I was so pissed I had to leave the room. It was a true story, thats what made me

No. Although I like to read, I'm just not a fiction reader. Not sure why. Maybe it's because no matter how much fiction I read, I never feel smart enough and tend towards non-fiction.

I'm disappointed that this wonderful film wasn't received better. It received a few notable nominations but it only won a Golden Globe for the musical score.

Hello.Yes the film was beautifully shot.I liked the music! I think when you read the book first and love it so much you are more critical.I felt that they did not cover everything and there did not seem so much feeling and depth as conveyed in the book. For you not reading the book you enjoyed the film for what it was and maybe got more out of it than I did. However all in all a very good film to watch!

Totally agree. Watched it a couple weekends ago. You really should give the book a try, even if fiction isn't for you - it reads like as gritty and visual as NF. But the movie was faithful enough and carried all of the artistry with it.

Now I want to watch it again. =/

The Kite Runner is an amazing movie but an even better book. I enjoyed Khaled Hosseini's second book A Thousand Splendid Suns more than I did The Kite Runner. A definite must read.

Thanks for the info. If I adore a book, I usually won't watch the movie. I can't stand the missing details that usually make a book special. There have been a few exceptions, but rarely can a movie rival a book. Glad to hear that this one was good, as I thought the book was great.

I haven't read his new book yet, but I will have to check it out.
