| lol, I know it sounds strange, but it's the only way I could phrase it. In my opinion, the best action movies -- Raiders of the Lost Ark, Die Hard, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, The Rock (also directed by Michael Bay), The Dark Knight -- blend intense and elaborate action with character drama, mystery, suspense, etc. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was just noise, noise, noise, nonstop. And, yes, by the 135 minute point, I was more than bored by the continued robot mayhem. I didn't care whether the Autobots or the Decepticons found the Matrix of Leadership, blah blah blah. I just thought it was artless, and action movies don't have to be. |
