The famous vampire is back in action in Tim Burton's new film version of the popular 60's "Dark Shadows" television series.

In the first trailer, Johnny Depp plays Barnabas as cursed vamp who awakens in 1972 after hundreds of years in a coffin.

Apologies to anyone who expected a more serious take on the classic show, as the trailer shows a strong reliance on comedy over horror and suspense.

OMG, I cant believe their making a movie out of that series. I dont want to tell my age, but I used to watch that when I came home from Jr. High everyday. Lets see, the vampire was Barnabas Collins, I cant remember what the womans name was.

I saw that trailer this weekend, it looked like it was going to be really funny. I can't wait. I wasn't allowed to watch it at home when it was on TV, but I caught it sometimes at friends houses.
