Entrants compete for over $100,000 in cash and prizes, including an Overall Grand Prize package of $10,000 (US) in cash and $20,000 in merchandise.

ISC 2003 Rock Category Winner Tara Slone on CBS TV's Rock Star: INXS

If you haven't seen it already, you still have time to catch the reality show "Rock Star: INXS," hosted by Brooke Burke and Dave Navarro (CBS). It started out with 15 performers competing for the prize of lead singer for the world-famous rock band INXS. Each week one performer gets eliminated, based on a combination of public voting and INXS input. Tara Slone (ex-Joydrop vocalist) made it to week #4, when the band said good-bye to her. Congrats to Tara for being selected out of thousands of performers to be on the show!

Sonny Rollins
Theodore Walter (Sonny) Rollins (born September 7, 1930 in New York City) is considered to be an incomparable master of improvisation, and some consider him to be the most influential tenor saxophonist that jazz has ever seen. Sonny Rollins has had a long, productive career in jazz, beginning his career at the age of 11, and he played with Thelonious Monk before he was 20. Rollins is still touring and recording today, having outlived several of his jazz contemporaries such as John Coltrane, Miles Davis, and Art Blakey, all of whom he has recorded with. Read More


Amy Ray
Singer-songwriter Amy Ray is best known as the rocking half of the Indigo Girls. While her harmonious partnership with Emily Saliers continues to explore the area where rock and folk meet, Ray's solo recordings give her the freedom to get loud and punky, and to speak out on her political and social views. First came 2001's Stag, which was followed by Prom in May 2005. Both albums were recorded with like-minded musicians from the South's punk/indie rock scenes, and both explore issues of gender, social structure and an individual's voyage toward self realization.
