The Bad Fish and Hotel Charles usually book some pretty decent bands.

Crushing Day is a good band (www.crushingday.com) and they play at Hotel Charles. Jameo is right. Those are the best places to see decent bands.

If the Hotel Charles doesn't stop having fire code violations for overcrowding they wont be around much longer. The Fire Marshal closed them down last Saturday night(Jan 20). They made a whole lot of upgrades to the building last year, required by the Fire Marshal's office I believe to stay open because that building was a disaster waiting to happen.
Its been fixed up pretty nice now, but they really pack the people in their when a good band is playing, too bad they dont have the room to expand more.
