He tripped and fell onto that copper wire in a empty store that wasn't his and the bolt cutters in his hands accidently cut into the copper wire. | |

| this idiot had 9 kids... thats why they were broke. maybe a pack of rubbers would've been cheaper. or if they were still too poor pull out for gods sake. If intelligent responsible and educated people bred kids like this guy, all our problems in this country would be over. think about it.... |

| Thieves in D.C. are getting electricuted in abandoned public schools trying to seal the copper wiring. Maybe we should advertise there's a fortune of copper wires hidden in Marion Barry's crack safe.

| It gets worse- Copper wire thieves struck an Anne Arundel Co., Linthicum sports complex Tuesday for the 3rd time in a week, stripping electrical boxes of the cable needed to light the largest baseball diamond in the park. Thieves made off with the wire from 4 electrical boxes that provide power to 4 field lights at Andover Park's No. 6 baseball diamond, county police said. The 4 lights were along the wood line that backs to a nearby horse farm. Police believe the people who stole the wire may have hidden a vehicle in that area. The exact amount of wire taken was unknown this morning, but police estimate its value at $4,000. The incident is just the latest at the sports complex, which had 15,500 feet of copper wiring stolen from its electrical boxes twice in 3 days last week. It cost the county $8,700 to replace the wiring. Those thefts came about a year after thieves removed 400 yards of copper wire from the park, leaving the Andover Apaches' eight Recreation and Parks football teams with no place to practice or play after dark. The county's delay in reinstalling the wire stolen Tuesday puts board members of the Linthicum Ferndale Youth Athletic Association in a bind, as the 53rd annual LFYAA Invitational continues through tomorrow. About 3,000 feet of the wire stolen last week was 6 gauge, which is a little thicker than a common television coaxial cable, Mr. Rudinski said. 5,000 feet of the wire stolen last week was 8 gauge, and 7,500 was 10 gauge-which are both slightly smaller in size. About 2 feet of wire equals one pound, so thieves stole about 7,750 pounds of wire between July 2 and July 5. An employee of Maryland Recycle Co. in Glen Burnie stated people can bring in wire even still in its casing-to sell for scrap. They will be paid between $1 and $1.75 per pound.
