I do think the adoption group should have made an exception for this one family, since the dog was already with them. I doubt their organization will be around much longer.

Does anyone else think it's weird their name is "Moms and Mutts" and they're being weird about a family with kids (even if they are under 14) adopting a small dog? You'd think if they're going to be adopting to Moms then they wouldn't mind kids.
Agreed. Why not to people with kids under 14 anyway? My little Bitsy's the same age as my first born and we've had her since a baby (the dog and kid, ). No bites!

I guess they (adoption agencies) know kids better than the parents. Don't they know the parents can just go BUY a dog? You'd think they'd want to save a life...but they're just interested in rules. I can see not adopting an aggressive dog....but c'mon.

For real. Did you see the dog? Not looking like a killer.

Ellen’s ex-dog, unless she fried it up and ate it, should not be a blip on the national news scene.
Looks like we have a troll!

Hey there CG.
I know When I got my pup I got attached to it right away.. He came from a really bad breeder and ended up costing me $$$ to get him healthy.. I think it is the mere fact of disbelief of how cruel this lady is to the girls. It would be nice to see Iggy to go back to the family. However those girls will live! It is not the end of the world. Interesting to see what the outcome is going to be!

From the Petfinder Website:

Mutts and Mom has chosen to temporarily inactivate their website on Petfinder.com because their email inbox and voice mail are overwhelmed. Petfinder has 11,000 shelters and rescue groups posting over 260,000 pets that need homes. We do not dictate the adoption policies of our members. We do work with them to educate their volunteers and hope to professionalize the industry as a whole, providing a positive experience for adopters. Petfinder advocates for all parties: the pets, the adopters, and the shelter and rescue group workers and volunteers.
