Mother admits guilt in death of two kids from neglect

"Marie Robinson's apartment was stocked with food and the rent was paid, but her two young children were found dead from malnutrition and dehydration nearly three years ago in what some call one of the worst child-neglect cases in recent memory.

Trembling and shifting her weight from foot to foot as she stood before King County Superior Court Judge Michael Hayden, Robinson pleaded guilty Thursday to two counts of first-degree manslaughter in connection with the November 2004 deaths of 16-month-old Justice Robinson and 6-week-old Raiden Robinson, and one count of reckless endangerment for mistreatment of a third child. Police say they found Robinson passed out, surrounded by more than 300 beer cans, and with a blood-alcohol level five times the legal limit for driving.

How horrible.

And at that point, she should have just drank a keg. Much less mess.

And, did I read this right? She's going to be released because she didn't meet the "standard"?

I think it was saying she wasn't meeting the standards to be in the Mental Health place so they released her to stand trial. Can you believe she had four older children and then another child who managed to survive this and be given to somebody else? Somewhere there should be fathers,right? What about doctors or schoolteachers? How horrible that after the older kids were taken away (or whatever happened with them) there was never any follow up. Maybe these kids didn't exist then but it looks like somebody reported something to Child Services.

Oh how terrible! Those poor babies, can you imagine 2 such small children slowly starving to death... It breaks my heart. This woman deserves the death penalty, if she could pay bills and shop for booze she damn sure could feed those kids! I'd shoot her myself with no remorse. Vile, disgusting, worthless, slutty, piece of human waste. She deserves to suffer before being flung into an unmarked grave.

Prosecutors are recommending an exceptional sentence of 34 years for Robinson, who will be sentenced on Nov. 16. The standard sentence is 13 to 17 years.

She looks like she's from the Blackfoot tribe near Seattle. That would have thrown another twist into this disgusting story.

IMO shooting her is just too quick for her... Those babies starved to death and that didn't happen overnight... Dad couldn't get her to answer the door? Where was he? Why did he abandon these babies?

Social Services is overworked... because it's on the reservation... alcoholism is rampant on the blackfoot reservation and in the surrounding area. Where are the churches? What responsibility do the liquor stores take? 300 beer cans is 50 six packs or 12 1/2 cases of beer... shouldn't someone have wondered who was going to watch the babies while this woman had a party?

Two people make babies not just the mother...and neighbors must have known about this drunk..... there are a whole bunch of people I hold accountable.

Her children were 2-1/2 (he lived) 16 months and 6 weeks old.

had previously lost custody of four older children.

Investigators estimated the boys had been dead for several days before their bodies were found.

police were called after the children's father was unable to get a response at the home.

Don't get me wrong, Mom is guilty as hell, but Dad should be right there next to her. He had 3 kids in less than 3 years with this woman, knew she had issues with being unfit apparently didn't live in the house with them, and didn't realize there might be something worth calling the police for until the children had been dead from malnutrition for SEVERAL days.

I missed the part about the reservation. I have an 8 month old grandson, a 5 month old grandaughter and a 2 year old grandson and the thought of something like this happening to them - I just cannot imagine. Just like that little girl they found in that box with no identity. How do you just stuff a child in a box after you have done whatever you did to her?
