Former foreign minister Ieng Sary will face charges of crimes against humanity and war crimes. He was a member of the inner circle of Pol Pot whose Khmer Rouge regime oversaw the deaths of an estimated 1.7 million people by execution, torture, disease or starvation between 1975 and 1979.
