Gore's Daddy was a beloved Senator and very popular with the people of TN until he went hippie for Vietnam. I don't know as you can say the same thing for Dubya's Daddy. Being a rich kid might have gotten him the Rangers, but I will suggest that he became Prez *despite* his father.

Maybe, but Bush 41 was always popular in TX which could've helped W in his race for gov and by the time he ran for Pres, his Dad had sort of attained the "elder statesman" status and had the respect of a lot of people. It's doubtful that W would've attained national status if it weren't him beating Richards in TX and his status as a Bush had something to do with that.

...he would not. What bearing does this have on the original question; Gore and drugs?

If I recall back during the debates when Bill Clinton said he smoked but didn't enhale Al stated that he smoked and enhaled.

...anyway, Gore is has a messiah complex that even W could envy. Gore did drugs. W did drugs. To me, I would make mandatory drug testing a conditions of holding public office.

...commonly accepted that Gore spent Vietnam behind a typewriter huffing weed and is no stranger to other drugs.

Is there a difference between a typewriter and a keyboard?

I cant stand the twirp, but lets be honest.

its getting pretty hard to find someone that has never smoked a joint, or snorted a line or got drunk or sped, or got a bad grade, did the chickens, had wild parties in college, wrote something they are ashamed of etc...

maybe its time for ability to dictate the future

Larry you say that Gore made it on his merits , but Bush used his father to get elected. I dont see how you can come up with that. Bias wouldnt have anything to do with it??
