Banning Samurai Swords

BBC NEWS | UK | Ban on imitation Samurai swords

From the article:
Imitation Samurai swords: Cheap on the internet
Imitation Samurai swords are to be banned after a spate of attacks in the UK, say ministers.
The Home Office has confirmed plans to outlaw the weapons in England and Wales after putting forward the idea earlier this year.

Yes folks:Thats right the folks in the UK are thinking seriously of banning samurai swords. Its the latest proof of what happens when the camel gets its nose under the tent . First ban guns, then swords, then baseball bats, and before long ban hateful thought. Give them an inch they take a mile.

You know, it's been said before, but, this world is going to (explicative placed here)! Every do-gooder wants to ban everything they personally don't like, or feel the need for, but, then when something happens and they wish they had "said weapon" available, they are crying again.

I totally agree with the ban. Only the military and police should have samurai swords.....and pointed kitchen knives.

Quote:
A&E doctors are calling for a ban on long pointed kitchen knives to reduce deaths from stabbing.
A team from West Middlesex University Hospital said violent crime is on the increase - and kitchen knives are used in as many as half of all stabbings.

They argued many assaults are committed impulsively, prompted by alcohol and drugs, and a kitchen knife often makes an all too available weapon.

The research is published in the British Medical Journal.

The researchers said there was no reason for long pointed knives to be publicly available at all.

They consulted 10 top chefs from around the UK, and found such knives have little practical value in the kitchen.

None of the chefs felt such knives were essential, since the point of a short blade was just as useful when a sharp end was needed.

Before long they are going to put serial numbers on cricket bats and only allow ownership if someone is in a sports club and has a permit.

They'll take my collection of swords when they pry them from my cold dead fingers.

A girl of 10 years old is charged with a felony for taking a steak knife to school right here in this country, I assume she will get at least 10 years in the slammer and a $5,000 dollar fine for cutting her sandwich at lunch. Just think if she had taken a samurai sword to school she could maybe get the death penalty.

Don't send this article to MOM. He might try to ban them.

I'd get some practice with my samurai sword if they tried to take mine away.
