The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments in a courthouse.......

You cannot post "Thou Shalt Not Steal," "Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery" and "Thou Shall Not Lie" in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians
-- it creates a hostile work environment.

I am guessing it will be either a printed stamp on the case, or an imprinted stamp on the base of the case.
Who knows, maybe they will allow a stamp seal on each box like they do cigarettes.

Friggin liberal idiots and their backwards ass gun control...
I bet they will try to sell this bill as a revenue increase for the state to use the money for something like gun victims or something, but you are right the buearocracy involved in keeping track of all this will eat up all the tax revenue and maybe more.

By the way, it is not all liberals that support stupid gun control and it is not all the liberals fault all the time either they get proposed and passed. Case in point, Giuliani, Romney and Sarah Brady are all Republicans and have endorsed or called for bonehead gun control laws in the past (and some still are).

WTF ............ Serialized Ammo, like that is going to stop crime .... well I go to VA gun shows anyhow ..... I am guessing this would put an end to Mil Surp ammo in MD since it will not be encoded, if it has to be each round stamped - kinda defeats buying sealed cans of ak ammo or 7.62 Russian ....

From what I understand is a microscopic fingerprint/serial number on the actual projectile... can you imagine the COST on this? The bill simply says encoding and California said "Oh, we will laser etch the case and bullet" - well, on impact the laser etching on the bullet will probably be trashed - so this leads to microscopic beads impregnated into/on the projectile...

Imagine Maryland being the ONLY state in the union that does this. Would Federal, Remington, Hornady setup a line for just California and Md? No ####ing way!

I will go out of state or mail-order in bulk what I need.

Here is a blurb from what they are trying to do in Cali; Common Ground Common Sense > Bullet Serialization

In all honesty - I truly understand why, but it is HIGHLY impractical nor is it a viable solution.

These people a pure idiots... Hey dumba$$3s... Just because the guns in the movie Judge Dredd, DNA encoded the bullets using the DNA of the person who fired the weapon, doesnt mean it would work in real life.

I'd love to see Police Dept's in Cali not be able to buy Handgun ammo because all the Ammo makers abandoned the state ....

and no I do think if this thing passes the cops should be exempt - some are as crooked as the criminals ...........

Something else to smuggle into Cali ....... Ammo
